Report – Florida's Todd Golden faces Title IX stalking investigation

Florida Gators basketball coach Todd Golden is the subject of a Title IX investigation over allegations of sexual harassment and stalking, the university's independent student newspaper reported Friday.

Florida received a formal Title IX complaint against Golden on Sept. 27, which included allegations of sexual exploitation, sexual harassment and stalking, The Alligator reported. Golden directed this behavior toward Florida students and former Florida students, the newspaper reported.

Other local Gainesville outlets also said the Title IX report was sent to them anonymously.

University spokeswoman Cynthia Roldan Hernandez on Friday declined a request to provide a copy of the complaint and declined to answer questions about Golden.

According to the newspaper, the complaint includes allegations that Golden sent photos and videos of his genitals, made unwanted sexual advances on Instagram and asked for sexual favors.

Florida hired Golden in 2022 to replace Mike White, initially giving him a six-year, $18 million contract. Golden and the school agreed to a two-year extension last March that ties him to the school through the 2029-30 season.

Before coming to Florida, Golden previously served as San Francisco's head coach for three seasons, leading the Dons to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998. Golden also served as an assistant to Kyle Smith at USF for three seasons, having served two seasons each Auburn and Columbia.
