Football bet of the day: Friday night showdown provides sparks

To kick off our weekend we're traveling to Spain and Kevin Hatchard has a betting tip from La Liga.

Rayo Vallecano vs Las PalmasFriday, November 8th, 8:00 p.m

A Norwegian no-go for us last night as Bodo Glimt lost 2-1 at home to Qarabag, which was a big surprise. Shaking our heads, we move on.

Rayo has made a very solid start to the season and goes into the weekend in ninth place. Coach Inigo Perez is only 36 years old and took over the team in February and kept them in the division. This season, the former Rayo assistant led his team to four wins and only three defeats in the first eleven matchdays.

Importantly for our purposes tonight, Perez's side have scored at least once in nine of their 12 games this season, and at Vallecas they have scored in all five games. At home they managed just one goal, in a 1-0 win over Alaves.

The visitors from Las Palmas appear to be finally settling into life following the departure of coach Garcia Pimienta and have won two of their last three league games. They followed a 3-2 win at rivals Valencia with a 1-0 win over Girona and then did well with a 2-0 defeat at Atlético Madrid.

The Canary Islands side have scored in nine of their 12 La Liga games, but have only kept one clean sheet all season, and I'm happy to choose BTTS here 2.06. With Fabio Silva and Sandro Ramirez in good form in attack, I think Las Palmas will at least score points here.
