Cook County Jail inmate has been charged after drug-soaked papers were found in shoes

A 21-year-old Cook County Jail inmate faces additional charges after authorities discovered drug-laced papers in his shoes.

Jadarius Baker, who was already in custody on trespassing and armed robbery charges, was charged with contraband at a correctional facility.

The two strips of paper were discovered on August 27th during a pat-down by correctional staff. The Cook County Sheriff's Office sent the papers to the Illinois State Police forensic lab for testing, which confirmed the presence of a synthetic cannabinoid.

A Cook County grand jury indicted Baker on Oct. 31.
