Trial set for man charged with drunk driving in UTV crash that killed teen

CHESNEE, SC (FOX Carolina) – A hearing for a man accused of driving a UTV under the influence before a crash that killed an Upstate student-athlete is scheduled for Thursday morning.

Randall Bell has not appeared in court since his arrest in August, but his attorney will appear in District Court for an initial hearing.

Bell is charged with drunk driving and open container. The South Carolina Highway Patrol said he was driving a commercial vehicle along Hardin Road in Chesnee when it went off the right side and rolled over.

Ethan Harrell(Spartanburg District 2)

Ethan Harrell, 16, was airlifted to the hospital but died from his injuries.

Harrell was a junior at Boiling Springs High School, where he also played first base and was a pitcher for the Bulldogs.
