Supermodel Georgina Cooper dies suddenly at the age of 46, just months after her wedding

Supermodel Georgina Cooper, known for her patchy smile, has died in Greece aged 46, with big names in the industry mourning the loss.

Cooper, who had just married her husband Nigel, was on Kos, an island in Greece, when she fell ill, according to the Daily Mail.

The outlet said she was then flown from Kos' main hospital to Crete, where she was in intensive care. The model and mother-of-one died after five days and her body was only returned to England last week.

Her agent, Dean Goodman, told the Daily Mail that she had been ill and developed health problems during COVID-19. He said she was in and out of the hospital and called her a “real superstar.”

The publication said she was discovered at age 13 and appeared in a Bon Jovi music video at age 15.

The model was friends with many in the industry: Kate Moss, Jade Parfitt, Erin O'Connor and others.

Cooper appeared on the cover of fashion and was a model for designers such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Stella McCartney.

According to the outlet, she decided to retire from the industry to raise her son, Sonny.

“You were an incredibly kind and funny person, Georgina,” friend O'Connor said in a post. “I/we all admired and loved you so much for the warmth, generosity and gentle mischief you brought into the world.”
