Glen Burnie man fatally shot by motorcyclist during road rage incident

Authorities say a 51-year-old man was shot and killed in Glen Burnie on Thursday evening following a road rage incident that included erratic driving and tailgating by a motorcyclist.

Scott David Guhse, 51, was found dead of a gunshot wound on the road on Route 10 around 8:20 p.m., Anne Arundel County police said Friday.

Police said Guhse closely followed a 22-year-old motorcyclist on East Furnace Branch Road, yelling at him and nearly colliding with him.

After both vehicles drove to the side of the road, Guhse allegedly attacked the motorcyclist with a hammer, whereupon the 22-year-old shot him with a pistol, the police said. Investigators said the shooter, who has not been publicly identified, had a permit to carry a concealed handgun. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced Guhse dead at the scene.
