Zac Taylor vows to fight harder for calls after meeting Joe Burrow

When it comes to not getting calls, Joe Burrow needs to act more like Tom Brady. Burrow obviously doesn't want that. His coach vowed to do it for him.

They call it like they see it” Zac Taylor told reporters on Friday, via Ben Baby of ESPN.com. “I just have to keep fighting for some of these things. You definitely don't want to lose him [hit] This is long after the end of the play. . . . I have to fight harder to make sure Joe gets some of this. Because he doesn't want to do it. He doesn’t want to disrupt the flow of his game, but those are just things I need to talk to him about.”

Brady liked to interrupt the flow of the game to complain about no-calls. He made it part of the flow of the game. From a strategic perspective, the lobbying of the officials after the final whistle is no different from the defense's diagnosis before the final whistle.

“I feel like I’ve never gotten these calls before,” Burrow said after the game. “So I don’t really expect that. I feel like there was a couple who were close. I don’t expect that either.”

Burrow shouldn't just accept it. He needs to let them know when they mess up so they can be more careful not to mess up in the future.

On last night's final drive, a gasket burst following a ruptured Burrow face mask might have prompted referee Clete Blakeman to throw a flag for roughing the passer on the failed two-point conversion.

Maybe it's just not Burrow's style. Maybe he's just too nice. But we all know what happens nice guys.
