ChatGpt down? The company answers when the “Bad Gateway” error will be fixed

OpenAIs ChatGPT decreased by thousands worldwide. Users were seeing the “Bad Gateway” error. According to DownDetector, an online outage tracking platform, the issue affected more than 16,000 people in the United States.

OpenAI responded to the outage: “We are currently investigating this issue.” According to DownDetector, 79% of users reported having problems with ChatGPT in general. Meanwhile, 15% complained about the mobile application and 6% were unable to use the website.

Several users reported issues on social media. “Chat GPT is down and I need help with the last question on my exam,” joked one person on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Chatgpt is not available today. Please everyone come back to write your own code now,” added a second.

“I'm wondering if I asked too much of Chat GPT and caused it to crash somehow. #ChatGPT,” said a third person on the Elon Musk-led platform. OpenAI has not yet provided a timeline for when the issue will be fixed or what caused it. The time it takes to resolve a 502 Bad Gateway error can vary from a few minutes to several hours depending on the cause.
