Charles Day Arrested: Radnor police arrest suspected prowler accused of looking into Villanova student's window

RADNOR TWP., Pa. (WPVI) — Radnor police have been searching for a prowling suspect since Sunday.

The suspect was caught on Friday afternoon.

Women living at the Villas in Bryn Mawr have been on edge since the weekend, police say, when a Ring camera caught Charles Day looking into a Villanova student's apartment window.

“She noticed movement or noise and then immediately called following police,” Radnor Police Commissioner Chris Flanagan told Action News.

Flanagan says it's the second incident in recent months at The Villas, an off-campus apartment complex for many Villanova students.

The first incident did not identify a suspect, but it led the victim to purchase a Ring camera that allegedly captured “Day on Sunday.”

“Radnor Police have been in contact with the subject. The well-trained police officers on the street therefore immediately recognized him from previous encounters,” added Superintendent Flanagan.

While Day has prior arrests for criminal mischief and drunken driving, police say his previous encounters in Radnor were minor offenses that resulted in citations.

“I always feel very safe entering and leaving my building. So now I'm going to park as close as I can and just be more aware of my surroundings than before,” Villas resident Elana Rapoport told investigative reporter Chad Pradelli.

Morgan Properties, which owns The Villas, warned residents of the alleged crimes via email.

While police arrested Day Friday afternoon, they are urging residents to be vigilant and lock their doors.

“It's disturbing and it's also an area where you expect privacy and security in your home,” Rapoport said.

Day is charged with loitering and prowling at night, trespassing and other charges.
