De'Anthony Melton has been upgraded to questionable for Warriors vs. Cavaliers – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

The Warriors are already on the rise, but Golden State may get an even bigger boost heading into Friday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Guard De'Anthony Melton, who has missed the last five games with a lower back strain, has been upgraded to questionable for the Warriors' 9-0 game against the Cavaliers, Golden State announced Thursday.

Forward Draymond Green (knee) and guard Brandin Podziemski are also questionable for Golden State's game against Cleveland.

Podziemski left Monday's game due to illness and did not play Wednesday, while Green appeared on the injury report after playing 30 minutes in Golden State's 118-112 win over the Boston Celtics at TD Garden on Wednesday.

The Warriors have dealt with some injuries to start the 2024-25 NBA season, with Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Melton and Podziemski – all key rotation players – missing games early in the season.

That hasn't slowed Golden State down, as the Warriors have shown their incredible depth at every turn, getting off to a 7-1 start that includes a perfect 5-0 away record despite the constant changes in their rotations.

With Melton and Podziemski potentially returning to the roster, Golden State could receive a significant boost as it looks to hand the NBA's only undefeated team its first loss of the season.
