Liam Payne's death was not suicide

Three weeks after Liam Payne's death, Argentine prosecutors have ruled out suicide as the cause of death and charged three people.

The One Direction alum's autopsy revealed his injuries were not the result of self-harm or physical interference from others after he died from multiple injuries and foreign objects while jumping from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room on Wednesday, October 2 Buenos Aires fell. 16 at the age of 31.

After La Nation reported that before the incident, employees at Hotel Casa Sur called police to “report an aggressive male who may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.” A toxicology report found several drugs in his system at the time of death.

The three suspects, who were not identified, were charged with “leaking a person with subsequent killing, providing and aiding the use of narcotics.” A judge banned the trio from leaving the country, but no one was arrested.

One of the suspects was someone close to Payne and possibly working with him, one was a hotel employee and the other was supplying the singer with drugs.

Born on August 29, 1993 in Wolverhampton, England, Payne first auditioned for The X Factor in 2008 at the age of 14, singing Frank Sinatra's “Fly Me to the Moon.” Although he was cut, Cowell encouraged him to come back two years later.

In 2010, Payne returned to the competition series and teamed up with Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik to form One Direction. Following their time on the show, the group were signed by Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment.

From 2010 to 2016, the group released five albums and became a global sensation, winning seven Brit Awards and selling more than 70 million albums worldwide.

After the group went their separate ways, Payne released his only solo album LP1 in 2019.
