Man killed in motorcycle crash in Butler County

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) – A Poplar Bluff man has died in a motorcycle accident in Butler County, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the accident occurred on Thursday, November 7 at 8:35 p.m. The driver was traveling south on Highway 142, one mile south of Poplar Bluff.

The accident occurred when a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja left the left side of the road, crashed into a ditch and overturned. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle.

According to the Highway Patrol, the driver, a 20-year-old man from Poplar Bluff, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 6:08 a.m. Friday, November 8, by Butler County Deputy Coroner Brien Fugate at Poplar Mortuary Bluff Regional Medical Center.

According to the Highway Patrol, the driver was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
