Nicole Scherzinger was condemned for her reaction to Russell Brand's US election mail celebrating Donald Trump's victory

Nicole Scherzinger is condemned for responding to a post by Russell Brand about Trump's US election victory.

Many celebrities have expressed their stunned reactions to Donald Trump becoming the new president – and only the second person to win a second term in non-consecutive years.

While some stars remained silent about their voting decision, others, including Jennifer Aniston, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford, voted for Kamala Harris. Trump's famous fans include Piers Morgan, Elon Musk, Joe Rogan and Brand.

On Thursday (November 7), Scherzinger responded to a photo Brand posted on Instagram in which he celebrated Trump's victory by holding up a red hat emblazoned with the words “Make Jesus First Again.”

The Olivier Award-winning and Tony-nominated star of the Broadway play Sunset Blvd wrote: “Where can I get this hat?”

The now-deleted comment led many to believe that the star identified himself as a Trump fan, as the hat bears similarities to Trump's MAGA hats, which feature his slogan: “Make American Great Again.”

Scherzinger was criticized for the response to Brand, who was the subject of a Channel 4 Dispatched documentary in which four women accused him of being a rapist and a sexual and emotional abuser.

“Nicole Scherzinger made a beautiful comeback and people started taking her seriously for the first time in her entire career. She threw it to comment on a Russell Brand post??” one person wrote.

Another added: “It's wild that Nicole Scherzinger is taking her public image to its highest level in years by commenting on a Russell F***ing Brand Instagram post,” and another said on X/Twitter: “My question is why Nicole Scherzinger even followed and interacted with Russell Brand in the first place.”

In the wake of the controversy, a post appeared online showing Scherzinger liking a post by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. It said: “Yes, Russell Brand, Tucker Carlson, I will restore free speech, end the forever wars and protect the health of children once we have Donald Trump back in the White House.”

During the campaign, Trump said he would give the former independent presidential candidate oversight of the government's health, food and drug sectors if he became president, despite Kennedy Jr.'s much-derided obsession with debunked conspiracies.

British prosecutors said earlier this month they had received a file from police containing evidence of Brand's alleged sexual offenses and were considering whether to press charges against him

Brand, who has also a history of spreading baseless conspiracy theories, has strongly denied all allegations made against him, telling former Fox News host Carlson in a YouTube interview that the claims were “very, very hurtful.”

Less than a year after the allegations against him surfaced, the comedian was baptized, which he said was an “opportunity to put the past behind him.”
