Man is accused of stabbing another man during a road rage incident

A man accused of stabbing another man in Addison on Tuesday has been charged with aggravated assault.

Irving Garcia-Zepeda, 29, of the 1200 block of Hampton Lane in Roselle, was released pending trial Thursday by a DuPage County judge.

Addison police said they responded to the area of ​​Lake Street and Bruce Avenue at 9:36 a.m. for a report of a stabbing. Elmhurst police were with Garcia-Zepeda and the victim in the 600 block of West Lake in Elmhurst.

According to an arrest motion filed by prosecutors, it began with the victim cutting Garcia-Zepeda and the two of them off in traffic. At a red light, the victim got out of his car and approached Garcia-Zepeda, who then got out.

Another driver reported seeing the two fighting on the ground and drove away.

The victim's vehicle then crashed into Garcia-Zepeda's car three times and ended up in the parking lot of an auto repair shop.

According to the petition, the victim suffered a lung injury and damage to his vocal cords.

Garcia-Zepeda suffered an injury from pepper spray, according to the petition.
