Missing Wylie, mother of two, found safe after four days missing – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Melonie Ballenger, who was the subject of a recent CLEAR Alert, was found alive but “severely dehydrated” near her residence around 5:15 p.m. Friday, police said.

She was found by a neighbor while they were walking their dog near Abby Lane and Tyler Trail, a mile from Ballenger's home on Parkwood Drive. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police have not revealed why she did not return home or provided further details about her discovery.

She was first reported missing by her husband early Monday morning. He told police she left the house the night before without her phone or vehicle.

Wylie police conducted ground and aerial searches throughout the area and asked neighbors to check their outdoor security cameras, but were unable to locate her.

“We have searched most of the wooded areas and there is a dam nearby,” Sergeant said. said Donald English of the Wylie Police Department. “We've been searching the waterways near where she lives and are just tracking any place she might be.”

The family declined further comment on the incident and asked for their privacy to be respected at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
