Police are searching for an “armed and dangerous” suspect following a murder in Hopkinsville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Hopkinsville Police Department (HPD) is searching for an “armed and dangerous” man accused of killing another man in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

On Friday, HPD officers responded to East 1st Street and North Virginia Street.

When officers arrived, they provided medical care to a victim, 27-year-old Jacorey Majors.

Officers took Majors to a local hospital, where he later died.

Investigators are investigating Majors' murder.

HPD believes 27-year-old Tavarious Mathews is a person of interest.

Police said Mathews should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

“If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Mathews, please contact ECC at 270-890-1300,” the HPD said.
