Hopkinsville police are searching for a murder suspect

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – Hopkinsville Police are searching for a person involved in a murder investigation.

Officers responded to East 1st Avenue and North Virginia Street on Friday for a suspect who was reported shot.

Officers and emergency services located 27-year-old Jacorey Majors and provided him with medical care.

Majors was taken to a nearby medical center where he was pronounced dead.

HPD has identified 27-year-old Tavarious Mathews as a person of interest in the investigation.

Mathews is considered “armed and dangerous” and HPD said not to approach him if you see him.

HPD asks anyone with information about Mathews' whereabouts or about Friday's incident to contact the department at 270-890-1300.
