A Rochester man suffering from “drug-induced psychosis” has been arrested for two suspected home invasions

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – The Rochester Police Department (RPD) has arrested Rochester resident Ian Ajal, 25, after he allegedly broke into two homes.

On Sunday around 1 p.m., RPD responded to reports of a man wearing a mask entering the back door of a home on Georgetowne Dr. NW entered. and stole a bag of oranges.

While officers responded to the break-in on Georgetowne Dr. NW responded, they received reports of another break-in near 52nd St. NW.

The victims told officers a man broke into their home and screamed as he poured gasoline into their kitchen.

One of the victims tried to stop Ajal and dragged him outside. A dog in the house also bit Ajal and caused injuries.

According to RPD, Ajal appeared to be suffering from “drug-induced psychosis.”

Ajal was taken to Mayo Clinic Saint Marys for treatment and is charged with first-degree burglary.
