25-year-old is accused of stabbing man with kitchen knife

NEWBURGH, NY – A New Windsor man faces justice in connection with a rage-fueled murder in Orange County.

Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced that Cameron Williams, 25, of New Windsor, was arraigned Wednesday in Orange County Court on one count of second-degree murder and related charges. He was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,000,000 bail, $3,000,000 fully secured bail and $10,000,000 partially secured bail. Next, a conference is scheduled for December 4th.

According to court documents, around 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 13, after an argument, Williams retrieved several kitchen knives from a home, approached a man lying on West Parmenter Street and stabbed him repeatedly. An investigation by the Newburgh City Police Department determined Williams was a suspect and led to his arrest.

“The acts of violence allegedly committed by this defendant are unreasonable,” Hoovler said. “I commend the City of Newburgh Police Department for their quick response and investigation that led to the arrest of the defendant. My office is committed to pursuing justice on behalf of the victim and our community. We remain steadfast in our commitment to investigating and prosecuting violent crimes in Orange County.”

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christopher Kelly.
