According to unconfirmed reports from X user United Flight UAL17 or UA17 returned to London due to a suspected fuel leak.

However, we have reached out to the United Airlines media team for the official and genuine updates.

According to FlightRadar24, United flight UA17 departed London at 12:30 p.m. local time, 25 minutes late. After about 45 minutes in the air, the flight crew makes a U-turn.

The aircraft then taxied to a remote area near Terminal 2 for inspection.

The aircraft involved in the incident was a Boeing 767-300ER with registration number N664UA. Additionally, it is a 26.4-year-old aircraft powered by Pratt and Whitney PW4000 engines.

If we talk about similar incidents, in August 2024, a Garuda Indonesia (GA) flight refused to take off after fuel leaked from its Boeing 737 aircraft at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta.

Last year, an American Airlines (AA) flight from Chicago O'Hare (ORD) to LaGuardia (LGA) was forced to make an emergency landing at Kalamazoo Battle Creek Int'l Airport (AZO) after experiencing a fuel surge in mid-air. The flight was operated using Boeing 737 aircraft.

This is the developing story. Stay tuned for more updates.
