Sheriff releases new details on Dilworth man seriously injured in hunting accident north of Moorhead – InForum

CLAY COUNTY – The Clay County Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident related to hunting on the opening day of Minnesota's firearms deer season.

Shortly before 8 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a report of a man struck by gunfire while hunting near the 4600 block of 90th Avenue N., which is just a few miles southeast of Kragnes, Minnesota.

According to a press release from the Clay County Sheriff's Office, officers arrived to find a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Clay County officers and a responding Minnesota State Trooper immediately began administering first aid to the male hunter.

The Sanford ambulance arrived and took over life-saving measures. Sanford Airmed was requested and its personnel assisted Sanford Ambulance and law enforcement personnel with life-saving measures.

The man, a 34-year-old man from Dilworth, was transported by Airmed to Sanford Hospital.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and no further information will be released at this time.
