The arrest resulted in a shots fired incident in Albany

An Albany man is accused of firing a gun into a car with someone inside.

The shooting happened near First Street and Henry Johnson Boulevard just after 9 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Michael Johnson, 38, fled the scene, police said, and a loaded 9mm gun was found nearby. He was quickly arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

There are no reported injuries.
