Chesco man charged with killing friend over video game dispute: DA

SCHUYLKILL, Pa. – A Phoenixville man is facing numerous charges after prosecutors said he fatally shot his friend during an argument over a video game.

Holden Hoffsis, 21, was arrested Friday and charged with first- and third-degree murder and other charges in connection with the death of Daniel Gray, Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe announced in a news release.

According to prosecutors, police were called to a home on Westhorpe Lane in Schuylkill Township just before 3:30 a.m. Friday for a report of a shooting. When investigators arrived, they found Hoffsis had shot Gray in the chest, prosecutors said.

According to prosecutors, police also found cocaine in Hoffsis' possession and marijuana and drug packaging in his bedroom. A silver revolver was also recovered from the crime scene.

“This case is another sad example of how the mix of drugs and weapons leads to violence and death,” de Barrena-Sarobe said in a statement.
