Nebraska man accused of sending private photos could spend years in prison

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Nebraska man has been accused of sending private images to others and could face years in prison in Missouri.

Court documents filed Thursday, November 7, in Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court show that Caiden Sprague, 23, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was charged in connection with the distribution of private images.

A public grand jury indictment filed in Kansas City found that Sprague sent private, sexually explicit images to harass, threaten or coerce the victim. He allegedly intended to cause emotional distress to the victim.

Court documents say the crimes began on May 19, 2023 and continued when Sprague threatened to send more images on May 26. He was charged with non-consensual distribution of private sexual images, threatening to non-consensual distribution of private sexual messages and three counts of harassment.

Sprague faces a maximum of 23 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000. A criminal complaint was issued on Friday. As of Saturday, he doesn't appear to be behind bars. An arraignment is expected on Monday, November 18 at 2 p.m. No further information was released.
