The trailer for Brave New World delves into paranoia

Since The Winter SoldierThe Captain America A subset of Marvel films have contributed heavily to their spy thriller aesthetic. Still, there's “Paranoid for a Superhero Franchise” and then there's the new trailer for it Captain America: Brave New Worldreleased today by D23 Brazil. The latter is, so to speak, full Parallax viewwith the focus on Anthony Mackie's Cap examining a seemingly brainwashed Isaiah Bradley, not to mention all the creepy black lines and split-screen shots filling the thing and the strange flickering effect on all the lettering. All of this feels few silly when the trailer reminds us that the big, terrible threat he's shaping up to be is a giant red Harrison Ford, but still: there's something eerie about it.

In addition to Mackie and Ford – the latter looking pretty distraught even before taking off his jersey – the trailer also shows more of Giancarlo Esposito as the film's more obvious villain and Danny Ramirez reprising his role from the film The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. (In the meantime, if you want the other half of this particular team, check out the new one lightning* trailer, which also appeared today on D23 Brazil.) It also contains hints that Ford's president Thunderbolt Ross is more of a pawn in a larger plan than something more sinister; In the brief glimpses of the transformation we get, he definitely doesn't look happy about turning into a Hulk.

Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters on February 14, 2025 and makes us think of a Valentine's Day poster that features Harrison Ford's big red face instead of a heart in the middle. Sorry, we do Despite it be distracted by it; We swear we'll try to get it all together when the movie actually comes out.
