Dylan Sampson leaves Tennessee's game against Mississippi State due to injury

Tennessee run back Dylan Sampson suffered an injury to his left lower leg Mississippi State a minute before halftime this forced him to leave the game.

He would go to the locker room early.

During the game, Sampson had already totaled 76 yards on 19 carries.

Entering the game, Sampson reached the 1,000-yard mark for the season and the 2,000-yard mark for his career. He is currently at 1,056 yards receiving in the 2024 season.

Although he did not reach the end zone against the Bulldogs before his injury, he had previously scored in every game this season. He scored 19 points this season, more than any other player in school history.

Sampson is currently in his junior year and will be draft eligible after the season.

Behind Sampson, DeSean Bishop also missing due to a leg injury. He will be replaced by a true newcomer Peyton Lewis.

Lewis scored his first career touchdown last week against Kentucky. At halftime he has a range of up to eight yards on four runs.

After Sampson's injury as a sophomore Cameron Seldon He also got a carry for five yards just before halftime.
