Mizzou Football reacts: Beating Oklahoma still matters

There hasn't been much action on the Mizzou Football front over the last two weeks. You know. Because of the bye week?

We spent a lot of time discussing where this season could go for Mizzou and whether it still matters without a CFP offer on the table. We spent the rest of the time talking about the meaning of the long-lost-and-now-found Oklahoma rivalry.

Nate Hurst argued this week that OU is and was the most important game on the schedule this year. But I'm not sure everyone agrees with that. So we tell you: How important is Mizzou's rivalry with Oklahoma 13 years after they last met?

You can see that there has been a slight change in sentiment over the last decade-plus. Many Mizzou fans who grew up in the late 1980s, when Mizzou actually competed with the Sooners, see the Crimson and Cream as a standard to beat. Those who grew up with the early days of the SEC…maybe not so much. It's good, so you can see that the majority of you are still invested in this historically significant duel, but I can't blame those of you who have a hard time seeing its relevance.

As always, we also threw in a bonus question. This one, and forgive me for using a basketball metaphor, was a layup.

Like…obvious. No offense, oh I don't know, Sterling Webb. But Brady Cook could be the difference between 7 and 10 wins for the Tigers this year.
