Four injured in off-duty officer-involved shooting in Twin Peaks

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Four people were injured in an off-duty officer-involved shooting that occurred Saturday night in Twin Peaks.

Huntsville Police Chief Kirk Giles said a fight broke out between two groups of people at the restaurant. Chief Giles said an off-duty HPD officer was involved in the shooting.

The chief did not provide any information about the condition of the people who were shot, nor did he say whether other weapons were involved or whether the officer was injured during the struggle.

ALEA is on site and will lead the investigation.

According to HEMSI spokesman Don Webster, the shooting occurred around 9:50 p.m. He said four people were taken to trauma services at Huntsville Hospital.

Webster said one person was in critical condition while the other three were still being evaluated.
