An officer-involved shooting investigation is ongoing in Huntsville Twin Peaks

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Huntsville Police now confirm that a shooting at a popular restaurant actually involved an off-duty officer.

According to Huntsville Police Chief Kirk Giles, the 911 call went out just after 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Giles says two groups got into an argument when someone opened fire. “During the altercation there was an exchange of gunfire,” Giles said. “There was an off-duty officer and it was also an officer-involved shooting.”

Witnesses told us they heard four to five gunshots and believe one victim was hit in the neck or upper chest. These witnesses claim the argument may have stemmed from a college football game.

HEMSI's Don Webster confirms one person was taken to the Huntsville Hospital Trauma Center in critical condition. Three other people were also injured and are currently being investigated.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is now conducting the investigation.
