The Jets defeat the Stars and set an NHL record with their 14th win in their first 15 games

Roope Hintz scored for Dallas (8-5-0), which has lost three of four games (1-3-0). Jake Oettinger allowed four goals on 15 shots before being eliminated in the second period. In relief, Casey DeSmith made ten saves.

“It was a big challenge going up against the team that is leading the league,” said Stars forward Wyatt Johnston. “It was a big game for us and we obviously didn't play the way we wanted to. But you can definitely learn from such experiences and take something away from them.”

Iafallo gave the Jets a 1-0 lead with a power play goal at 7:28 of the first period, redirecting Namestnikov's pass over Oettinger.

“Winning in times like this is the goal you play for and that’s fun for us,” Iafallo said. “But once it’s game time we’re ready to rock, so it’s a lot of fun right now.”

After Stars defender Mathew Dumba lost the ball, Rasmus Kupari made it 2-0 at 10:21 by sinking a rebound into the side of the net.

“They are a great team. It's starting [Hellebuyck]”You see, he was great, but they play well in front of him, defend well and don't give us many opportunities, which of course makes it easier for him.” Overall, they are a great team. It’s definitely a benchmark for us to remember this game and remind ourselves of the level we need to reach.”

Iafallo said of Hellebuyck: “One more.” [heck] of a game. He makes incredible saves, holds up our plays and makes those defensive plays. It goes far and pushes us forward. I think he has one [heck] from the beginning, so he has to keep going. It's pretty fun to watch.

Namestnikov made it 3-0 at 3:34, slamming the puck into the net after his first attempt to turn the ball over was stopped.

“He tried to cover it up, but I saw it there and just picked on it,” Namestnikov said. “Luckily it went in.”

Nikolaj Ehlers made it 4-0 with a one-timer on the power play at 7:14.

Oettinger was pulled 2:07 later.

“I think if you look at it [Winnipeg] and Florida, they have exposed us and we have to do much better, DeBoer said of his team, which lost twice to the Panthers in the NHL Global Series Finland 2024. “I think we beat the teams we were supposed to beat, but when we had the opportunity to play against the top teams in the league we weren't up to the challenge. So that’s up to us.”
