Auburn basketball player testimonials reported an in-flight altercation during an Instagram live stream

There was a celebratory mood in the Auburn men's basketball locker room Saturday night, and for good reason.

The Tigers had just defeated No. 4 Houston 74-69, the largest non-conference win in school history. The win also moved Auburn to No. 1 in the KenPom rankings.

After the game, Auburn forward Dylan Cardwell went live on Instagram in the locker room and made a comment that appeared to reference a reported incident from the previous day.

“What did you expect when you locked a bunch of dogs on a plane?” Cardwell said during the livestream.

The day before the game, Auburn's team plane reportedly had to divert to the airport after an altercation between players shortly after departure.

Freshman guard Jahki Howard and senior forward Ja'Heim Hudson were reportedly the two players involved and neither of them traveled with the team when it left for Houston again Friday night.

Bruce Pearl was asked about the incident during Auburn's pregame radio show but did not elaborate.

“It's an unfortunate situation. We are dealing with it directly, but I will not be commenting further tonight,” Pearl said.

After a 74-69 win over Houston, Auburn will be in action for a home game against Kent State on Wednesday.
