Man Utd 3-0 Leicester City: Bruno Fernandes shines for United

Bruno Fernandes marked his 250th Manchester United appearance by playing a starring role as Ruud van Nistelrooy ended his spell as caretaker coach with a 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester.

Fernandes scored the opener and secured a second goal – which ended up as a Viktor Kristiansen own goal – before setting up Alejandro Garnacho for a superb third goal, giving United their third win in four games since Erik ten Hag's dismissal.

It's a good starting point for new head coach Ruben Amorim to fly to England on Monday, although it will still be a few days before the Sporting coach receives his visa so he can officially start work.

United are yet to confirm the exact composition of Amorim's backfield team and whether Van Nistelrooy will be part of it.

However, the home fans serenaded Van Nistelrooy at the final whistle and the Dutchman can look forward to returning to three wins and a draw from four games, even if United remain in the bottom half of the table.
