A murder investigation is ongoing at the Vero Beach Highlands residence

VERO BEACH, Fla. – The Indian River County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating a home invasion homicide that occurred early Sunday morning around 3:45 a.m. in the Vero Beach Highlands neighborhood in the 600 block of 23rd Place Southwest.

“I can tell you this is a residence that we are very familiar with,” Flowers said. “We have been there many times so far this year. We know some of the residents of the home and I can tell you we are in the middle of an ongoing murder investigation.”

Flowers urged any member of the public with information to speak out.

“If there is anyone who knows the apartment in question, knows the people in it and knows anything that happened overnight, we are looking for further investigative leads,” Flowers said.
