Person was arrested after calling 911 while in custody to falsely report another scene

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Authorities say a woman was arrested after she called 911 to falsely report a domestic violence incident while in custody.

Officers said they responded to a burglary in progress this morning where 25-year-old Kelsee Davis and another person were reportedly banging on the front door of a residence.

The resident told police that he saw Davis smash the front window during that time.

According to police, Davis was sitting in the back of a car with her three children when they approached to arrest and question her.

An officer on scene would say he could smell alcohol on Davis, and while they were on scene, dispatch notified officers that a domestic violence call had been reported that originated from Davis' phone number.

The dispatcher confirmed to officers that the person who made the call had their phone pinged at their location.

They say Davis fought police officers when he was put in the back seat of a patrol car by yelling and pushing at them.

Officers determined that Davis was in such an intoxicated state that she appeared unable to properly care for her three children at the scene.

Davis was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of neglect of a dependent, disorderly conduct, false reporting, criminal mischief and resisting law enforcement.

She is being held without bond.
