Man accused of trying to rob multiple Charlotte banks has been arrested

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – The man accused of trying to rob at least four banks in the last two weeks has been arrested. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

Police said the man, 48-year-old Paul Glover, was arrested Friday evening.

The first known robbery occurred on Tuesday, October 29, at the Truist Bank on Freedom Drive in West Charlotte. Investigators said Glover walked into the bank, waited patiently to speak with a teller and then handed the clerk a note.

“He presents the note to the clerk and basically says, 'Give me the money or else,'” CMPD Det. Jacqueline Clyburn said.

Clyburn said Glover then got money from the teller and fled the bank.

After the first robbery, police said Glover stole cash from a Fifth Third Bank on Reddman Road in East Charlotte on Monday, Nov. 4. He then attempted to rob another Fifth Third Bank on Camden Road on Thursday, November 7th. That same day, investigators said he returned to the Truist on Freedom Drive and tried to rob it again.
