Grand Forks man arrested following domestic disturbance and house fire

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) – Police say a man was arrested in Grand Forks following a domestic disturbance that “quickly escalated into an open residential fire.”

Officers were called to the disturbance around 10:17 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to police, the suspect, James Laducer, was in the apartment when an argument occurred with a woman.

Laducer managed to inflict “serious bodily harm” on the woman and then set fire to various objects in the apartment.

There were also two young teenagers in the apartment.

Laducer attempted to flee the scene and was intercepted by law enforcement as he stepped out of a second story window. He then began engaging the officers outside in another physical altercation.

Laducer was taken into custody and arrested for endangering fire, hindering apprehension and aggravated domestic violence.

The woman and the two teenagers were not injured by the fire.
