Lesley arrested on domestic battery charge

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former WVU football defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley was suspended early Saturday morning on a misdemeanor battery charge.

Lesley, who was fired by WVU football coach Neal Brown during the Mountaineers' final week, was taken to the North Central Regional Jail.

The prison's website lists the charge as “Domestic Battery-1,” but other details were not immediately available.

Lesley, 42, has yet to be arraigned by a Monongalia County judge.

Lesley was released by Brown on October 29 due to an underperforming defense.

“I met with Coach Lesley this morning and let him know we are making a change at the defensive coordinator position,” Brown said.

Saturday's game against Cincinnati marks the first contest with Jeff Koonz as defensive coordinator.
