Several people were injured in a head-on collision

CALHOUN COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Florida Highway Patrol troopers report multiple people were injured in a head-on crash in Calhoun County.

According to police, a 67-year-old woman from Altha was driving an SUV westbound on Northwest County Road 73 B around 9 a.m. Sunday morning. According to police, the car crossed the center line and entered the oncoming lane where another SUV was traveling east.

The cars reportedly collided head-on.

According to police, the 67-year-old woman was alone in the car and suffered serious injuries in the accident. There were reportedly four passengers in the other car, including at least two under the age of 18.

Officials said the diver in the second SUV, a 42-year-old woman, and three other passengers all suffered minor injuries. Police said two of those passengers were 12 and 15 years old, but did not provide information about the age of the third.

The fourth passenger in the second SUV, a 46-year-old man, was reportedly seriously injured in the accident.

Troopers added that those involved in the crash were all from Alta and were all wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
