Bullies at school can be a problem, but in today's story, a girl who claims she is being bullied at school might actually be the bully.

Her parents want to sue the school and her sister believes it's wrong for her parents to stand up for her.

Let's see how the drama escalates…

(This is about me and my “half-sister Maddie”, who is 14 years old).

Maddie constantly stirs up social drama at her school and then cries “wolf” when people defy her.

My parents are the main part of the problem.

They feed fully into Maddie's antics, always pushing the narrative that it's all someone else's fault.

Maddie's most recent claim was that a girl “Nora” was harassing her, calling her ugly and/or assaulting her in the locker rooms.

Apparently my parents came to school full of enthusiasm to get Nora expelled for what she did to precious Maddie.

Two girls who witness the interaction tell a different story.

The school was prepared for this meeting and had two other girls there, both of whom witnessed the incident.

My parents parroted Maddie's story that Nora bullied and molested her, and both girls who witnessed it said that wasn't the case.

The girls both said Maddie accused Nora of checking on them.

Nora just said that she wasn't examining Maddie at all, or that she wasn't attracted to Maddie at all, and that she should leave her alone.

Nora only spoke about herself in self-defense after Maddie went to her first and said nothing more to Maddie.

Her parents want to sue the school.

If I were our parents, I would have apologized for what happened, made Maddie apologize, and then grounded Maddie for being a liar and instigator in the first place.

No.

Now my parents are claiming it was still bullying and are bluffing because they want to sue the school for not defending Maddie, punish Nora, and discipline the two witnesses for not “intervening.”

My “Uncle Daniel” is a paralegal and is currently studying law.

On Sunday my parents told me to text Uncle Daniel and ask why he wasn't answering them because he had the contacts that could help them sue the school.

Her parents called her a “brat” because she defied them.

I got fed up and told my parents that Uncle Daniel was probably ignoring them because this situation was just so stupid.

I also said that instead of being overzealous and arguing with the school, they should tell dear Maddie to just mind her own business.

I guarantee most of her social dramas will go away if she does this.

I was grounded and had my phone confiscated for disrespect.

Now I'm writing this on a school computer.

My parents said I was acting like a brat and a 16 year old who has never paid bills can't dictate what he does.

In my opinion this is true to a certain extent.

But if Uncle Daniel and our other relatives don't tell them, they'll have to hear from someone else that suing the school is a stupid idea and that Maddie should stop being an instigator.

AITA?

The parents don't seem to have an objective view of Maddie.

I'm not sure what it would take for them to realize they're wrong.

Talking to Uncle Daniel sounds like a great idea.

Ot followed her own advice to mind her own business.
