Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham on the wrong ending to the viral game

After their win against the Atlanta Hawks, the Detroit Pistons took on the Houston Rockets in an afternoon game on Sunday. Midway through the game, Cade Cunningham fell victim to a viral play.

Cunningham made two highlight plays on Friday with his game-winning layup and block against the Hawks. However, Sunday would be a completely different story for the former No. 1 pick.

Early in the fourth quarter, Cunningham was guarded by Amen Thompson, the twin brother of Pistons winger Ausar Thompson. Amen eventually released the ball, leading to a fast break for the Rockets. Cunningham was the only man back and did what he could to stop Houston from scoring. Amen eventually passed the ball to a trailing Jalen Green, who rose up and threw a brutal dunk at the Pistons guard.

Cunningham has been on an impressive streak of late, recording a triple-double in his last three games. He has put together another all-round effort, but it looks like his run is coming to an end. As the game winds down, he has 25 points, six rebounds and eight assists.

Green and Cunningham are two players who are closely related and belong to the same draft class. Detroit took its blue-chip prospect first overall in 2021, and then the Rockets went with the No. 2 pick to Green.

Aside from his poster slam, Green struggled offensively against the Pistons. He has 13 points and five rebounds and has 6-for-16 shooting from the field.
