Devin Booker outperforms Tyler Herro in Suns win

Devin Booker (22 PTS, 9 AST) and Tyler Herro (28 PTS, 6 AST) battled in Phoenix on Wednesday night, with Booker's Suns emerging victorious 115-112.

Herro averaged 22.7 PPG in Miami's first seven games of the season, which would mark a career high for the 2019 Second-Team All-SEC selection. Where he is successful, two consecutive NBA All-Stars Bam Adebayo has a bit of problems.

After averaging at least 19 PPG over the last three seasons, Adebayo is averaging just 14.9 PPG and nine rebounds through Miami's first seven games. He contributed 12 points (5-21 FG) and 12 rebounds in Wednesday night's loss. The Heat opened the season 3-4, good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Thanks to his 22 points, Devin Booker now holds the Suns record for most games with 20 (415), 30 (188), 40 (33), 50 (eight), 60 (two) and 70 points (one). The Phoenix Suns are off to their best eight-game start (7-1) since 2009-10, the same year they made it to the Western Conference Finals.

Karl-Anthony Towns shines in the Knicks' loss to the Hawks

Karl Anthony cities continued its early-season dominance on Wednesday night with New York's 121-116 loss to Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.

Towns scored 34 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, giving him six double-doubles in seven games this season. He joins the former Cat Julius Randle (2023/24) and Basketball Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing (1992/93) as the last Knicks players with at least six double-doubles in the team's first seven games.

KAT made five of his nine three-point attempts and totaled three blocks. Although he has contributed a double-double in six consecutive games, the Knicks are just 3-3 during that time.

De'Aaron Fox leads the Kings to victory over the Raptors

De'Aaron Fox was awarded a trophy for leading the NBA in steals last season (150) before Sacramento's 122-107 win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

Fox totaled one steal and 21 points (5-17 FG) in the win. Malik Monk was the only double-digit scorer off Sacramento's bench, collecting 13 points (4-13 FG) and grabbing six rebounds. Trey Lyles played 11 minutes but couldn't score a single point.

The Sacramento Kings are 5-3 and in sixth place in the Western Conference.

  • Shai Gilgeous Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder are no longer undefeated after a 124-122 loss to the Denver Nuggets. SGA scored 28 points (10-19 FG) but suffered eight turnovers. Cason Wallacewho celebrates his birthday on Thursday, contributed four points.
  • Brandon Boston Jr. has given everything for the New Orleans Pelicans this season, and that continued on Wednesday night. Boston Jr. scored 14 points (4-11 FG) and had five assists in New Orleans' 131-122 loss to the 0-8 Cleveland Cavaliers. In six games this season, the former five-star averaged 9.8 PPG and 2.6 AST, the highest of his career. Antonio Reeves not played.
  • Tyrese Maxey scored just 12 points total in Philadelphia's 110-98 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, marking the first game this season in which he failed to reach the 20-point mark. He left the game early after 32 minutes of play because he suffered pain in his right thigh muscles.
  • Keldon Johnson He made four of six shots for 10 points in 19 minutes off the bench in San Antonio's 127-100 loss to the Houston Rockets. Reed Sheppard scored a total of five points and five assists for Houston in 20 minutes of play.
