Marion County officials are searching for a man accused of turning off the GPS monitor ahead of trial in the stalking case

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — The Marion County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Unit is searching for 46-year-old Adam Knisley, who is accused of turning off his court-ordered GPS monitoring device before his trial in a stalking case.

Court documents show Knisley was scheduled to appear before a judge for a preliminary hearing later this month.

According to his affidavit, Knisley was charged with stalking his ex-girlfriend in late October. After several incidents in which Knisley allegedly banged on the woman's front door and revved a motorcycle outside her home after they broke up several days earlier, she told officers that he once sent her a screenshot of a map with her addresses Home and her house sent to a store she had visited that day.

In addition, and beyond the fact that Knisley had reportedly tried to call the woman dozens of times and send her even more text messages, the woman recounted unreported incidents of alleged domestic violence in the past and, in one case, told investigators that Knisley had attacked her choked during an argument about a year ago.
