US President-elect Donald Trump has made an offer to the Republican representative Elise Stefanik for the position of the USA Ambassador to the United NationsCNN reported.
“President-elect Trump will soon begin making decisions about who will serve in his second administration. These decisions will be announced when they are made,” Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for the Trump-Vance team, was quoted as saying by Reuters.
Trump announced on Saturday that neither Nikki Haley nor former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would be invited to join his administration.
During Trump's previous term, Haley served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Despite her harsh criticism during the party primaries when she ran against him, she later supported Trump's presidential bid.
Trump is currently holding meetings with potential government candidates ahead of his inauguration on January 20th.
