Crown Heights man arrested after attempted child abduction

Police say a Crown Heights man is in custody after he allegedly tried to grab a child from his father's hands Saturday afternoon.

According to the NYPD, Stowe was arrested at 1 a.m. Sunday. He is charged with first-degree harassment, second-degree kidnapping and committing an act that harms a minor.

Stephen Stowe, 28, faces multiple charges for allegedly attempting to kidnap a child.

A video obtained by News 12 appears to show Stowe approaching a father walking with his children before attempting to pick up and take one of the children away.

The father was able to maintain control of his child and the suspect quickly fled the scene.
