Dr. YV Rao Clinics advertised its services at a police stand in Visakhapatnam city. However, one of the images used in the advert caused a stir on social media as viewers questioned why the clinic made the questionable decision to show female breasts in public advertising.

The image was shared on Reddit by a user who wrote: “WTF. What did I see? He said the ad was posted near SevenHills.

In India, public nudity laws dictate that exposing women's breasts in public is illegal. In addition, it is also considered a serious violation of good morals and social norms. On the other hand, it is socially acceptable for men to be topless, especially in certain places like beaches or water parks.

The image sparked a heated discussion on Reddit as people debated whether the clinic had made a mistake or whether the image showed male breasts.

Some Reddit users said that even though the image showed a woman, it was not intended to be sexualized because it was promoting clinical surgery.

Clarification from the clinic

A spokesman for Dr.

Gynecomastia is a condition in which men develop enlarged breast tissue, resulting in a more feminine breast appearance.

“It is [an ad for] Breast reduction (gynecomastia) in men,” the spokesperson told HT.com via email, adding that the clinic would remove the ad if people found it offensive.

“Many people suffer from this physically and mentally, so it is an attempt to convey to them that such facilities exist. “If there is a problem, we will remove it, no problem,” the spokesman added.
