Officials arrest man for murder of Dale County woman

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) – A Headland man is charged with murder, accused of brutally murdering a woman whose body was found in her Dale County home this weekend.

According to records, 29-year-old James Johnson was booked into the Dale County Jail around 11 o'clock Sunday evening.

Dale County Coroner John Cawley said either a friend or family member found the victim's body after she failed to show up for work Sunday.

Cawley did not immediately release the woman's name, but investigators are expected to release more information later Monday.

Sources at the scene said the attacker brutally killed the woman, who suffered stab wounds, at her home on Dale County Highway 79 near Midland City.
