The grand jury indicts a Painesville man accused of killing his father

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (WOIO) – A Painesville man accused of fatally shooting his father has been indicted by a Lake County grand jury.

Christopher Paul Farmer, 23, has been charged with aggravated murder, murder and aggravated assault for the Sept. 15 shooting.

Police said officers responded to the home in the 300 block of Stanford St. around 12:53 a.m

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 67-year-old victim and took Farmer into custody.

Farmer pleaded not guilty and the judge ordered him held without bail.

Agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), the Lake County Coroner and the Painesville Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
