Lake in the Hills man accused of possessing illegible weapons and ammunition pleads guilty, gets prison time – Shaw Local

One of two men charged last year with defacing handguns and large magazines in their Lake in the Hills home pleaded guilty Wednesday to unlawfully possessing a firearm as a child under 21 and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison sentenced.

Alberto Pietri-Molina, 21, must serve half of his sentence. He will then serve six months of mandatory supervised release, according to the McHenry County court ruling signed by Judge Tiffany Davis.

In exchange for his guilty plea, additional charges were dismissed, including five additional counts of illegal possession of firearms stemming from his alleged possession of two handguns with serial numbers removed, as well as ammunition, even though he had been convicted of a felony and was under 21 years old was.

Jordan Aristud, also 21, was charged with possessing a firearm without a serial number while under 21 while also being convicted of aggravated assault, the complaint states. Aristud pleaded guilty to gun possession charges in March. He was sentenced to two years probation and 50 hours of community service, according to court records.

According to the complaints, Pietri-Molina and Aristud were each charged with possession of Alprazolam and minor violations of possession of the large magazines. That charge was also dismissed, court records show.

On April 14, 2023, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT Team was called to assist in the execution of a search warrant at the apartment where the two men lived, Lake in the Hills police said at the time . Pietri-Molina and Aristud were arrested before the SWAT team executed the search warrant, Lake in the Hills police said.

Pietri-Molina, who is being held in the Cook County Jail, has gun-related charges pending in Chicago, Cook County records show.
