Meet Jordan Chiles, SI Swimsuit's newest athlete

Two-time Olympian Jordan Chiles needs no introduction. The 23-year-old gymnast made her debut at the Tokyo Games in 2020 and really made a name for herself at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris as a member of the gold medal-winning U.S. women's national team.

We are thrilled to welcome Chiles as an athlete in the upcoming 2025 SI Swimsuit Issue. Today, the Oregon native is in Boca Raton, Florida, posing in front of photographer Ben Horton's lens for next May's magazine.

“We’re excited to kick off our shoot season for the 2025 edition with an exceptional lineup of high-performing female athletes,” said SI Swimsuit Editor-in-Chief MJ Day. “This remarkable group of Olympic medalists, world champions and record holders embodies the next generation of all-stars poised to transform the world of sport. They defy stereotypes and champion equality, inspiring young girls to imagine themselves as both athletes and leaders. What better way to celebrate these remarkable achievements than to showcase them in the pages of our issue.”

While SI Swimsuit's official Instagram account is releasing a few behind-the-scenes teasers from the set today, you'll have to wait until next May to see their images in the 2025 issue. To keep you informed, we've compiled some important information about Chiles below.

A gymnast since the age of six, Chiles achieved elite status at age 11 and made her American Classic debut in 2013. Eight years later, Chiles had a standout year, going 24-for-24 that season and earning a spot on the U.S. Women's National Team for the Olympics. In her debut at the Tokyo Summer Games, she won a silver medal in the women's team artistic gymnastics competition. Chiles is also an all-around winner in the Winter Cup and the Pan American Games.

Although Chiles was part of the gold medal-winning U.S. women's gymnastics team at the Paris Games, she is currently trying to regain her bronze medal, which was stripped from the athlete after a revision of her final result in the floor exercise. She is appealing the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling based on new evidence and a possible conflict of interest.

At the collegiate level, Chiles won two individual NCAA titles with UCLA, and the athlete plans to return to the Bruins' gymnastics team for the 2025 season.

As an advocate for body positivity and mental health, Chiles is often outspoken about both topics on her social media platforms. She has 1.5 million followers on Instagram alone, where Chiles shares gym content, relationship videos and lifestyle images. Over the years, she has collaborated with a number of brands including Nike, Milani Cosmetics, Love Wellness, Urban Outfitters, and more.

Currently a member of the 2024 Gold Over America Tour alongside other gymnasts such as Simone Biles, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera, Chiles is an exceptional example of athleticism and endurance.
