GBI is investigating the shooting death of a 17-year-old

CAMILLA – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is seeking information in the investigation into the death of a 17-year-old from Georgia.

At the request of Camilla Police, GBI agents are investigating the death of 17-year-old Kelvin Church of Camilla, Georgia.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Church was shot at the intersection of Furlow Street and Jester Street in Camilla, Georgia. Church was taken to a local hospital.

On November 5, 2024, Church died as a result of the shooting.

An autopsy will be performed at the GBI Crime Lab. So far there have been no arrests.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
